MaxPacemaker
MaxPacemaker is the alter ego of Antwerp-based multi-instrumentalist Max Philipp Weies. He explored pretty much every sort of genre from Metal to Punk, from Psychedelic music to Jazz. Growing up near Cologne, he found his love for electronic music in the Club scene of the 90’s. As a guitar-player he founded the electro-acoustic band Go March, which shifted from Krautrock towards a sound that was heavily influenced by Dance-music, ranging from Italo-Disco to Techno. Meanwhile Weies was experimenting with drum computers sent through guitar effects, hardware synthesizers and Ableton Live. He eventually assembled his own customized Techno machine using a modular synth with an Ableton effect-rack and recently played first solo shows as MaxPacemaker. Influenced by the likes of Ritchie Hawtin, Blawan and Speedy J, his improvised sets are always different, but undeniably situated on the darker side of the spectrum. Polyrhythmic percussion, acidic elements and reverberating rumbles merge together and create a maze of tunnels that may or may not lead you to light.
Boris Uytterhaegen
Boris Uytterhaegen is a sound and product designer at Joranalogue Audio Design. In this capacity, he embarked on a quest to uncover and conquer the musical limitations of a strictly analog modular system. Learning about these possibilities and limitations he intends to uncover opportunities for new products and develop creative approaches to composition.
His mission is to push the envelope of what is possible, both sonically and in terms of control, within the Joranalogue realm of Eurorack modules. Without memory banks and conventional sequencing methods to rely on, Boris delves deep into the intricacies of synthesis, seeking out every hidden sonic corner of the patch.
During this gig, Boris will take you on a captivating journey through the depths of sound, armed with Casper, his friendly synth. Expect an improvised yet immersive and increasingly technoid experience as he weaves harmonics, micro tones and synthesized percussion using open-heart sequencing techniques.
Opitz
Opitz is a Berlin-based Live Techno Artist whose musical journey began with an old Yamaha DJX Keyboard at the turn of the millennium. Self-taught, he explores the freedom of music creation without constraints, with machines but also with a piano. Inspired by the early band recordings from Kraftwerk in the 70s, the electrifying performances, and the future-oriented philosophy of Jeff Mills and others, Opitz crafts techno music based on curated, self-designed sounds and an implementation of the new technologies with a tablet. Techno Opitz creates is a mix of harder, cutting sounds and rhythmic grooving elements. A combination of simple and complex on-the-fly arrangements, animated by human and machinery baselines, leads, and chords, are dynamically coming to life and forming a new performance.
Carmen Jaci + Matthew Schoen
Carmen Jaci is a Canadian producer and composer based in the Netherlands. She creates whimsical worlds where sounds reminiscent of childhood are intertwined with those of popular music and symphonic compositions. Using hybrid sounds that merge acoustic instruments, synthesizers and vocal recordings, she draws upon the contrasts between organic and electronic. Her recent projects are inspired by studio production and dance music techniques that she deconstructs, giving free rein to her imagination.
Initially trained in electroacoustic composition at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, Matthew Schoen has developed a multidisciplinary practice comprising motion design and visual arts, following three years at OneSize Studio. Inspired by these techniques, Schoen overrides their functions, reconfiguring everyday objects and systems in a minimal and hyperrealist aesthetic. Originally from Québec, he lives and works in Leiden (the Netherlands).
Collaborators since 2015, Carmen Jaci and Matthew Schoen create playful, surprising, refined and forward-thinking audiovisual performances. They have presented their work at various festivals in the Netherlands and abroad, namely at Mutek Montreal, Rewire and Transart.
This live A/V performance by Carmen Jaci and Matthew Schoen seeks to reinvent our everyday interactions with technology and illustrate its impact on the construction of our identities. The duo presents a visualization of Jaci's personal data, accumulated over the years through various applications and softwares. An indexical notation of her daily and intimate life, this nonlinear visual sequence is synchronized with a lively and heterogeneous musical composition revealing surreal undertones.

SUPERBASIC
Superbasic [Balázs Bistey] is a live techno artist based in Amsterdam.
He focuses only on live performances with hardware instruments. Superbasic's live act is a continuation of the spontaneous, raw, unscripted origins of techno. It is a controlled improvisation and every time a discovery for the audience and himself too.
The sound is a danceable mix of punchy, rumbly, driving beats, percussive leads, rave chords, vocal fragments and atonal melodic parts. It's heavily influenced by Jeff Mills and is roughly in the corner occupied by Luke Slater and Surgeon.
