From 1st of February 2023 Amsterdam Alternative is running the cinema + bar on the second floor of the OT301 for at least half a year. The spaces will be used for screening films/docus, discussion nights, talkshow, comedy, music, wokshops, book launches, podcast recorings and more.
Ventilator
The space(s) are called Ventilator cinema and Ventilator bar. The name Ventilator refers to the fact that the bar space was the ventilation machine room in the past, when the OT301 was still the Film Academy. Besides the historical link we also like the reference to ventilating ideas and opinions.
Programming
Amsterdam Alternative will work with different programming teams for film/docu screenings, music related events, reading groups, a talk show and various discussion programs. As we are non profit and want to keep entry prices as low as possible we work with volunteers only. If you are interested in joing our team of programmers, want to help at the bar or with technical or hospitality shifts then please let us know.
Rental
Besides our own programming the cinema and/or bar space are also for rent for small scale events such as meetings, brainstorms, workshops, screenings etc.
