About the OT301 Community

The OT301 is an international community of people that work and live in the old Film Acamdemy on the Overtoom in Amsterdam. We are organised as an association called Vereniging EHBK (Eerste Hulp Bij Kunst). Everybody that has or runs a space within the OT301 is a member of that association. As a community we share the responsibilty for the OT301. 


Community member profile

George Bean

George is a theatre maker, director, performer and teacher with a background in physical theatre, dance and activism. Her particular interests are in participatory theatre and self-devising methods, site specific performance and art activism. She works with people of all ages, abilities and identities, and makes performances with both trained and untrained participants.

She holds a BA in Performing Arts from De Montfort University in the UK and a Choreography Diploma from SNDO, Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. She also studied Meisner Acting Technique with Jacqueline McClintock for two years.

As a teacher, George runs theatre classes for both kids and adults, and teaches as a freelancer at several schools and colleges including Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht and the International School of Amsterdam.

George works from her studio AnaMorphic in the OT301 building and is part of the collective which runs the OT301 project. She is also a collaborator with PLEK and HoP, two participatory theatre projects also based in the OT301. Her work with them involves teaching and directing/facilitating Forum Theatre pieces.
